Anna Mae Simmons, 84, of Spencer died Friday, May 4, at her residence.She was born in Spencer on Sept. 7, 1927, the daughter of the late Sam Hodge and Elsie (Hale) Hodge Madewell.She is survived by daughters, Wanda Crouch of McMinnville, Linda Pettit and husband Keith of Spencer, Karen Moffitt of Spencer, Sandra Measles and husband Johnny of Spencer; sons, Donnie Simmons and wife, Annetta, Rickey Simmons of Spencer and Eric Simmons, all of Spencer; daughter-in-law, Jessie Ann Simmons; sisters, Billie Ward and Delma Dishman, all of Spencer; 10 grandchildren, Ronda Turner, Travis Crouch, Jeff Pettit, Christopher Pettit, Chad Moffitt, Tonya Hale, Donnie Simmons Jr., Joshua Simmons, John Curtis Measles, Joe Derrick Simmons; 22 great grandchildren, special care givers, Holly Simmons, Diane Hale, and Shirley Oakes; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Paul Simmons, stepfather, Bransford Madewell; sons, A.C. Simmons and Joe Darrell Simmons, son-in-law, Ray Crouch, brother, William Bransford Madewell Jr.; sister, Ida Hillis, and two great grandchildren, Colby Turner, and MaKayla Hale.Funeral service was held Monday at Spencer Funeral Home in Spencer with Clayton Keener officiating.
