Amon David France, 93, of Smithville died Thursday at DeKalb Community Hospital.
He was an air conditioner maintenance worker for ARO, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a Baptist.
Mr. France was preceded in death by his wife, Lola France; parents, Daniel and Lou Della France; two brothers, Audie France and Alvie France; and nephew, Billy France. Survivors include sister and brother-in-law, Ophlynn and Leffel Redmon of Smithville, brother Erby France of Smithville, nieces and nephews, Sonia and Kenneth Vinson of Cloverport, Tawana and Randall Box of Brentwood, Danny and Debbie France of Dowelltown, Tim France of Smithville, Earl and Emaline France of Smithville, Barbara and Charles Young of McMinnville, Marilyn and Larry Wilbourn of Soddy Daisy, and special caregiver, Debbie West.
The funeral was held Saturday at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home with Virgil Hibdon Jr., and Garry McBride officiating. Burial followed at DeKalb Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
