McMinnville resident and Warren County native Alvie J. Byars, 91, was born Sept. 16, 1920 and died May 4 at Raintree Manor Nursing Home. A broadcast engineer and lifelong member of the Church of Christ where he served as minister of Salem Church of Christ for several years, he was the son of the late Samuel Hand and Nancy Rankhorn Byars. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Delma Smith Byars and son, Larry Price Byars.
