Alma Lois Lyle, 85, of Murfreesboro died Monday, June 6 at Ascension Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville. 

She was born in McMinnville on March 18, 1937, had worked at Oster and Walmart, and was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Shelbyville. Lois enjoyed cooking, attending church services, and spending quiet time as an independent woman. She was preceded in death by her parents William Richard and Fannie Mae Hill Dodd, daughter LaFonda Anne Clontz, and siblings James Clinton Dodd, Willie Mae Marllow, Juanita Holder, Joe Melton Dodd, Claude Brown Dodd, Herbert Denton Dodd, Robert Lewis Dodd, Jonnie Faye Prater, and Margaret Anne Moore.

Survivors include her daughter Terry Lynn Henderson of Memphis, sister and brother-in-law Janie Belle (Ken) Bailey, brother and sister-in-law Richard Allen (Betty) Dodd, six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside service and interment will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, June 9, at Charles Creek Cemetery. Bro. Loyd Warren will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12 p.m. noon until 2 p.m. at McMinnville Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.mcminnvillefuneralhome.com.
