McMinnville resident and Pikeville native Alma Campbell Greene, 90, was born April 13, 1923 and died Aug. 19 at Raintree Manor following an extended illness.
A retired legal secretary and court reporter, and a member of Arlington Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Belle Turner Campbell. Mrs. Greene was a 1942 graduate of the Wiley School of Business in Chattanooga. She worked for Judge Charles D. Haston for many years. She was married to Howard Greene, who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by daughter Angie Greene, five brothers, and five sisters.
Mrs. Greene is survived by two daughters, Eunice Dowd of Douglasville, Ga., and Lois Rhea of Watkinsville, Ga.; three granddaughters, Melissa Rhea of Kansas City, Mo., Jessica Young of Pocatello, Idaho and Erin Hight of Rome, Ga.; grandson, Michael Rhea of Marietta, Ga.; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Charlotte Acuff of Soddy-Daisy, Carolyn Acuff of Loganville, Ga., and Frances Lane of San Diego, Calif., and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Arlington Church of Christ with Charles Pearson and Jerry Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Johnson-Lewis Cemetery in Dunlap. Visitation will be held from 4 until 9 p.m. Wednesday, and 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Thursday at High’s.
