Allen R. Voss Sr., 65, of McMinnville died Friday, Feb. 10, at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville following a brief illness. He was born Nov. 16, 1951 to the late Randolph and Delores Hackett Voss.Originally from Baltimore, Md., Allen spent much of his life in Tampa, Fla. There he worked for several years as a deckhand on a tugboat for St. Phillips Tug and Barge, eventually earning his captain’s license.
