McMinnville resident and Warren County native Ada Lois Vaughn, 80, was born June 27, 1936 and died May 5 at her residence following an extended illness.
Retired from McGregor’s Nursery, she was the daughter of the late J.T. and Mattie Mae Fults Church. She was married to Marlon Brice McClure, who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sons, Hoppie McClure, Bobby Jewel McClure and an infant son.
She is survived by eight children and spouses, James McClure, Thomas and Dorothy McClure, Beverly and Charles Smith, Mattie and Chuck Medley, Tim and T.J. McClure, Buck and Melissa McClure, and Tony Vaughn and Jamie Huckstead, all of McMinnville, and Cheryl and Cary Tate of Morrison; 27 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; six siblings and spouses, J.T. and Ada Church of Kingston, Leon and Claudia Church of Michigan, Dorothy and Robert Freeman of Rock Island, Don Church and Barbara Curry of McMinnville, Jimmy Church of McMinnville, and Treva and Bryan Noll of Rock Island; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 7, at High’s Chapel with David Bratcher officiating. Burial will follow at Center Hill Cemetery at Hills Creek. Visitation will be from noon until 3:30 p.m. Sunday at High’s. Online condolences may be made at
