Fall Creek Falls State Park is Tennessees largest and most visited state park. The park also has four playgrounds, horse stables with guided trail rides, five covered picnic pavilions and an Olympic-sized pool.

Join State Naturalist Randy Hedgepath and Ranger Cara Alexander on a three-day, two- night exploration of some of our most beautiful state waterfalls. This outdoor adventure features the waterfalls at Fall Creek Falls State Park and the breathtaking beauty of Savage Gulf in South Cumberland State Park. Focusing on the beauty and history of these majestic falls, the tours also include educational and interpretive programs unique to each location.

Wednesday, Oct. 26, 4 p.m. - Check-in at Fall Creek Falls Inn. Please feel free to arrive at our beautiful park at any time on this day if you would like to do some of your own park exploration.
5:30 p.m. - Meet in the Cascade Room located right off of the Inn lobby for group introductions.
5:30 to 6:30 p.m. - The group will head to the Fall Creek Falls restaurant for dinner.
7 p.m. - Meet in the Cascade Room located right off of the Inn lobby for an informal presentation led by State Naturalist Randy Hedgepath on Tennessee waterfalls, nature and wildlife.
Thursday, October 27, 7 – 8 a.m. - Meet in the Fall Creek Falls restaurant for breakfast.
8 a.m. - We will ride a bus to Savage Gulf State Natural Area and stop at the Ranger Station at around 8:45 a.m. We will then ride another 15 minutes to the Collins Gulf Trailhead. The hike here is a rugged and rocky one mile down into a canyon to see the spectacular three part Suter Falls and a sweeping panoramic view of the canyon or gulf. The total walk for the day will be 4.5 miles. The trips to the waterfalls are short but strenuous. You should be able to hike on rugged terrain. Hiking boots and walking sticks or poles are recommended. A small day pack is also recommended for water and other items. You will want to be sure to bring along a camera to capture the gorgeous scenery and fun memories and a rain jacket as a just in case.
Lunch will be at the Stone Door Ranger Station in Beersheba Springs where afterwards we will take a short walk to a sweeping panoramic overlook of the gulf and down the hill to see Laurel Falls. Then we will drive to Altamont, 15 minutes away, to take the breathtaking 1.5 mile loop trail to see Greeter and Boardtree Falls. We will return to Fall Creek Falls from Altamont. We will arrive back at Fall Creek Falls around 5 p.m.
7 p.m. - Meet at the Cascade room for a fantastic catered outdoor picnic.
Friday, Oct. 28, 7- 8 a.m. - Meet in the Fall Creek Falls restaurant for breakfast.
8:30 a.m. - Meet in the lobby to head out and follow Randy as he guides us on an exploration of the many wonders of Fall Creek Falls! We will hike to the bottom of Fall Creek Falls, which is a short but strenuous 1 mile. We will also visit Piney and Cane Creek Falls Overlooks and walk to the base of Cane Creek Cascades, a short quarter mile walk down stairs.
