The Arts Center of Cannon County is presenting “Sister Act the Musical” starting today. Scheduled performances are set for Jan. 27, 28, Feb. 3, 4, 10 and 11 at 7:30 p.m.; and Jan. 29 and Feb. 5 at 2 p.m.
Based on the hit Whoopi Goldberg film, “Sister Act” is a hit new Broadway musical. Featuring original music by Tony and 8-time Oscar winner Alan Menken, Act tells the hilarious story of Deloris Van Cartier, a wannabe diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a crime and the cops hide her in the last place anyone would think to look – a convent! Under the suspicious watch of Mother Superior, Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she unexpectedly rediscovers her own. A sparking tribute to the universal power of friendship, “Sister Act” is reason to rejoice.
Sponsored by First Bank and directed by Rachael Cole, this production features Stephanie Wales as Deloris Van Cartier and Kelly Lynn Sekuterski as Mother Superior. The cast also includes Mileah Milstead, Allison Hall, Chelsea Taylor Toombs, Kyle Williams, Robbie Sams, Devin Bowles, Josh Issac, Jonathan Jones, Delanie Sullivan, Terri Ritter, Dana Pare`, Victoria Saunders, Spree, Holly Adams, Terri Kirby, Megan Prater Robinson, Max Fine and Skip Ritter.
