All candidates seeking public office are invited to participate in McMinnville-Warren County Senior Center’s “Meet and Greet” on April 24.
“This is a great opportunity for candidates to interact with the senior population of McMinnville and Warren County,” said center director Cheryl Watson Mingle.
The event has two purposes, getting the candidates and seniors together, and to raise funds for the center to ensure they will be able to continue providing services to seniors.
The “Meet and Greet” will start at 6 p.m. at the center located at 809 Morrison Street, but attendees are welcome to arrive early to greet visitors as they arrive. Light refreshments will be served.
Mingle encourages all candidates to bring an auction item to be bid off during the evening. She hopes the givers’ individual personality and interests show in their auction item, raising as much funds as possible for the center. Family, friends and supports are welcome to attend and bid on the items, and the candidate whose items draws the largest bid will be declared the winning candidate.
All candidates planning to attend should register at the center by April 21, by calling 473-6559.
Along with Mingle, other MWCSC board members include Dennis Kronlage, chairman; Carolyn Borum, vice chair; Hilda Lytle, secretary; Diane Bogle, treasurer; Sherman Fulton, Scarlett Griffith, Jurrell Wood; and ex-officio members County Executive John Pelham and City Mayor Jimmy Haley.
