Kaylee Dixon and Anna Grace Smith are preparing for possibly one of the most exciting events of their lives. They will be traveling to Jackson to compete in the Tennessee Teen Princess and Tennessee Outstanding Teen competitions, respectively.
Dixon is the reigning Miss McMinnville Teen Princess, and Smith is Miss McMinnville Outstanding Teen. The public is invited to a send-off party for the duo tonight at TOPZ Yogurt from 7:30 – 9 p.m. TOPZ will be open and serving soups, sandwiches and their tasty yogurt for the event.
The pageants will be held at The Carl Perkins Civic Center starting at 6 p.m. on March 21. The girls will have personal interviews, and compete onstage in fitness and evening gown competitions.
Smith will also compete in the talent portion performing “How Great Thou Art.” Her personal platform is On a Quest to Cure Cancer, Queens for a Cure, with the focus on childhood cancer and St. Jude Hospital. Her parents are Tammy and Ralph Smith.
Dixon’s platform is Exceptionally Beautiful, which raises awareness for children with special needs. She is the daughter of Misti and Chad Hillis, and Lang Dixon.
“The girls have worked very hard in preparing for their pageants,” said Miss McMinnville director Susan Burkes. “They have grown their platforms and put in many community service hours and I couldn’t be prouder of them. They are both wonderful girls with high morals and are representing McMinnville in the best light.”
Miss McMinnville Kristen Gallant will also be attending the Miss Tennessee Workshop for her upcoming pageant held in June in Jackson.
The winner of Miss Tennessee’s Outstanding Teen will compete at Miss America’s Outstanding Teen in Orlando on Aug. 1.
