Friends and family attend pair's anniversary party
Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Rogers celebrated 60 years together recently at a party held at Shellsford Baptist Church. They were married Feb. 25, 1956, and are parents to three children.

Marcus and Ruth Talbott Rogers were married Feb. 25, 1956 in Newell, W. Va.  The couple recently celebrated their 60th anniversary in a ceremony held at Shellsford Baptist Church.
They were joined by approximately 100 friends and family, all sending best wishes and prayers for many more years together. Attendees enjoyed assorted snack foods, and a lovely three-tiered confection boasting a white “60” on the anniversary layer.
The two are the parents of three sons, Jimmy Rogers, Randy Rogers of California and Marty Rogers. They have five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Rogers has been a homemaker, and enjoys reading as her pastime. Her husband is retired from Textron in Nashville, and is an avid woodworker. He also serves as a deacon at Shellsford Baptist Church, where they are both members.
