Are you resolving to exercise more and be healthier in 2016? Are you a runner who wants to better your time? Here’s an opportunity to get started right at the beginning with an organized run.
The Covenant Academy Resolution Run 5K has been set for Jan. 2 beginning at 9 a.m. Registration will begin at 8 a.m.
The walk/run is open to everyone, with a $15 entry fee, or $10 per person for groups of two or more. Snacks and warm or cold beverages will be at the finish line, as well as a photo booth with time displayed to document your race time.
Electronic time will be donated by A Matter of Timing.
Most of the course is through a residential neighborhood that borders McMinnville Country Club and Golf Course.
Organizers stress the race will go on, unless icy conditions develop. Weather is very unpredictable in the area, especially in January, so the race is planned to run regardless.
Proceeds from the day will benefit Covenant Academy, a private school serving children 6 weeks of age, through twelfth grade. The school serves students of all faiths. In fact the student body represents over 15 churches in the region.
