The Arts Center of Cannon County’s Summer Youth Conservatory is for junior students entering grades 1-6 and will be held in two sessions on June 6-17; and June 20-July 1. The senior conservatory is designed for students entering grades 7-12, and will be held July 11-22.
The conservatory is dedicated to the development of life skills through participation in the arts – helping kids reach a new stage. In addition to classes, this program offers the opportunity for all participants to appear on stage in a production at the end of each session. This is also a valuable opportunity to be seen on stage by Arts Center directors. Students will audition for roles in performances.
Classes offered are: Fundamentals of acting/advanced acting, creative movement/dance, and voice/music. The Arts Center proudly welcomes Cristin Carole of the Joffrey Ballet to our 2016 Summer Youth Conservatory. Carole is working with the staff to further develop the Conservatory curriculum enhancing the unique program in its 23rd year.
