The funk and soul of Motown is coming to the Park Theater this Saturday night.

Motown and More is bringing classic soul and funk to the Park Theater this Saturday, Aug. 31.

The Atlanta-based group will be dressed as famous characters with the show representing the style, music and energy of Motown.

The cast features male and female singers and dancers, as well as a live band to enhance the atmosphere.

Artists such as Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin, Prince, the Temptations and more, will be represented by cast members. More than 30 years of soul classics will be played throughout the set of Saturday’s show.

“In addition to the music, the show will feature the dance moves, outfits, charisma and personalities of each artist it pays tribute to,” said Diane McIntosh, who created the show. “This is why the show is described as a trip down memory lane. So many people love to go back to a certain time in their lives and reminisce about some of those special moments that they still cherish. We hope that we can play a part in bringing back those fond memories.”

The two-hour concert and tribute show is packed with classics and will include iconic hits from the ’70s and ’80s in addition to Motown favorites such as “Stop in the Name of Love,” and “My Girl.”

Tickets are $27 in advance and $32 at the door. The Park Theater is located at 115 West Main Street.

All seats are general admission.

Tickets may be purchased online at www.motownandmoremusical.com/shows-tickets. Tickets may also be purchased at the Park Theater box office.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Showtime will begin at 7:30 p.m.
