Martins celebrate golden anniversary

Today is a golden day for Otis and Sylvia Martin, who are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.
Sylvia Smith and Otis Martin were married June 4, 1967 at the home of the bride’s parents, the late Collier and Odeara Smith. Mr. Martin is the son of the late Otis and Hazel Martin.
The couple plans to attend church services at Baptist Tabernacle of Smithville with their children and families before having lunch together to celebrate the day.
They are parents to two daughters, Dessa and husband Patrick Ray, and Jennie and husband Tim Pack. Their grandchildren are Hunter Pack, P.J. Ray and Addie Pack.
Mrs. Martin was a longtime employee with the McMinnville Housing Authority, but now enjoys being at home with her husband, playing with grandchildren and writing. Her husband owned and operated OM Appliance for many years. In his spare time he enjoys hunting and fishing and spending time with family.
