Come meet the authors on April 22, as Magness Library presents its first Author’s Day. The event will take place from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., and is the perfect opportunity to visit with numerous authors, both local and other Tennessee writers. Most will have copies of their books available for purchase and will personally autograph them.
Representatives from genealogical societies from Cannon County, Auburntown, Coffee, Grundy and White counties, as well as the Warren County Genealogical Society, will be on site with their publications. They will be eager to share genealogical information with interested visitors.
“We are attempting to offer something for everyone, children, adults, or genealogy,” said library assistant director Michelle Chisam. “The children's book authors will be in the children’s library, with others placed in areas according to their genre.”
Light refreshments will be available during the event
Guests attending Author’s Day include: Duane Sherrill, Thomas Vaughn, Stan St. Clair, Monty Wanamaker, Chris Keathley, Phillip Clemons, Wayne Wolford, Troy Smith, Dr. Barbara Ebel, Sunday Sharpe, Ray McCoy, Andrea Smith, Rebecca Lusk, Dee Hall, Jamie Gillum, Tisha Emberton, Evelyn Baughman, Donna Minton, Elrena Parton and Larry E. Matthews.
“We decided to have this day because there are so many local and nearby authors we wanted to showcase,” said Chisam. “This is a good way to highlight each one and we invited a larger group to come and meet them. Who knows, one might find a new author they can enjoy and support.”
