Literacy a family affair
Event stresses importance of activities with children
Students, from left, Mila Dupuis, Macie Newby and Sara Turner make a stop at the coloring area, where they are designing a cover for their favorite candy bar. The competition netted a prize for the top entry in each grade level.
Children and their families were treated to Family Literacy Night Tuesday at Bobby Ray Memorial Elementary. The event was organized by second-grade teacher Lynette Kesey and her fellow staff members. Excited children, parents and siblings all gathered in the school cafeteria to register and start the process of visiting various stations set up throughout the school.
