Birthday girl Aspen King, third from left, and friends Addyson Creighton, Layla Templeton, Brianna Burgess and Brooklyn Vinson gather the bags of dog and cat food and other pet items together to be donated. Aspen asked her guests in lieu of bringing gifts for her, to bring items for pets.
Most 10-year-olds have a list of wants and needs for their birthday, but the exception to the rule is Aspen King. To celebrate her birthday, she decided she wanted to have a Rescue Party at Hot Wheels Skate Center with party attendees bringing pet supplies instead of presents for her. According to her grandmother Fran Dunlap they talked about the idea, but it was Aspen’s decision.
