Thirteen 4-H members recently competed at the Central Region Meats Judging Contest held in Murfreesboro competing against 42 other members from the region. Teams competed with other counties in the region, judging and identifying meats from beef, swine or lamb cuts. During this contest, 4-H’ers were shown various pictures of meat and asked to know which species the meat was from, what wholesale cut it was from, and the individual identity of the meat.
