To celebrate the summer solstice and the first day of summer on Wednesday, the Southern Standard put out the call on Facebook for readers to send their summer pictures.

The result was an overwhelming flood of nearly 600 photos. Of course space doesn't allow publication of all of them, but on this page and page 3B, you can find a small sampling of the submissions on the Standard's Facebook post.
