Electricity was everywhere Wednesday evening, in the sky and at the Farmers Market where a Freedom Festival welcomed a group encouraging the use of electricity-powered transportation. Ride the Future Tour, a parade of electric cars, scooters, motorcycles and bicycles from Xenon Motors traveling more than 3,000 miles across America, stopped in Warren County on its way from Charleston, S.C., on July 4 to Google Headquarters in Mountain View, Calif., on Aug. 16.A team of 10 is traveling more than 3,000 miles across America to promote the use of electric vehicles and an attempt to set five Guinness World Records — longest journey by electric car, motorbike, scooter and bicycle, as well as longest journey by largest combination of electric vehicles. The team allows up to 15 individuals from each city to travel with them from its prior destination on one of the electric scooters or bicycles. Locally, that was a trek from Chattanooga.
