President Sandra Griffith called the regular monthly meeting of the Lucky Northside FCE to order at the Extension office.
Chaplain Irene Fuston read a poem entitled “November is a Thankful Time” in anticipation of Thanksgiving, and then led a prayer.
Five members answered roll call, in addition to agent Hilda Lytle.
Secretary Betty Whitlock read the minutes of the September meeting and they were approved as read, and the financial report was given by Linda Schlimmer.
President Griffith collected money for the No Bake Sale. Each member will contribute money rather than bake items to sell. The actual bake sale will resume in May of next year.
Agent Lytle’s program was on stress and sleep. She presented ideas on how to deal with stress such as deep breathing and exercise.
Whitlock gave an informational program on gluten and how it affects people who are gluten sensitive and those who actually have celiac disease.
Plans and announcements were made in regard to the December Santa’s Workshop and brunch. Options are to bring items for the food bank and to participate in Toys for Tots. An auction of baked goods will also be held.
Officers for 2017 were selected by a motion from Whitlock to keep the same slate of officers, and a second by Fuston; no one opposed. The officers will remain:  president Sandra Griffith, vice president Paula Barnes, secretary-reporter Betty Whitlock, treasurer Linda Schlimmer, and chaplain Irene Fuston.
The club creed was read.
The November meeting will be changed to the 17th due to the Thanksgiving holiday and will be held in the 4H Room at the Extension Office. Fuston made the motion to adjourn and a second was made by Schlimmer.
The club will go to Zaxby’s for lunch.
