Christ Community Church officials hope to fill Park Theater on Easter Sunday for their third Easter in the Park worship service.
Everyone is welcome to the non-denominational service which will start at 10:30 a.m.
Park Theater can fit over 500 and the church is hoping to reach capacity. Easter in the Park was canceled in 2020 and it was held with limited seating last year. There will be no restrictions for Easter Sunday next weekend.
“We’ll talk about Christ being the best rescue plan ever,” said Christ Community Church pastor Jeremy Kliewer who will deliver the message. “This is a great opportunity for us to all come together as a community and to celebrate Christ.”
A collection will be taken and all the money will benefit five local nonprofits such as Horsin’ Around and The Hope Center.
“Our church provides support locally, nationally and internationally,” said Kliewer. “For this event, all contributions will stay local and benefit five local charities. The church won’t keep any of the money.”
Kliewer said Easter in the Park is a shining example of what church members can accomplish when everyone works to achieve a common goal.
“Our church divides into teams so we share the load of work,” said Kliewer. “One team is in charge of setup. Another is in charge of tear down. One team is over refreshments and another team will work as greeters. It’s a collaboration and it takes a whole group coming together.”
Handicap seating will be available as well as seating on the main level and balcony, if needed.
