Dairy royalty crowned at 4-H pageants

Young men serving as ushers at the Dairy Pageant recently are, from left, John Porter Prater, Keaton McGinness, Will Prater and Barrett McGinness.

Lauren Elizabeth Mansfield and Keira Rain Reynolds were crowned Warren County 4-H Dairy Princess and Junior Dairy Princess, respectively, at the event held at Three Star Mall.
They were chosen from a field of Warren County 4-H members in grades 4-6, and will represent the organization in events planned throughout the year. Following their personal introductions, they were asked on-stage questions by mistress of ceremonies Hilda Lytle.
Mansfield, 11, is an active 4-H member, having earned secretary of the year honors, and recently being named one of the top four junior members in the county. She is also a county poster and speech winner, as well as bread baking winner. Her dream job is to become a dermatologist and a mom. The Centertown Elementary sixth-grader is the daughter of Mike and Brandie Mansfield.
Others in the Dairy Princess court include Katherine Grace Sparkman, 11, daughter of Josh and Katherine Sparkman, first runner-up; and Gracie Nicole Brock, 12, daughter of Bill and Michelle Brock, second runner-up.
Junior Dairy Princess Reynolds is the 9-year-old daughter of Blake and Nikki Reynolds, and is an upcoming fifth-grade student at Centertown Elementary. She is involved in the 4-H Chick Chain Project, served as class secretary, is a 100 percent member and a photo search winner. She enjoys dancing, reading, family time and caring for her pets. Her dream occupation is to become a veterinarian and to open an animal hospital. 
BeBe-Anne Brackley, 10, was named first runner-up, and is the daughter of Tracey Brackley, and Peter Brackley. Aleah Grace Davis, 10, daughter of Irving and Kim Davis, was awarded second runner-up in the pageant. 
Miss Congeniality honors were bestowed on contestant Kalie Nicole Dodson. She is the 12-year-old daughter of April and Eric Dodson. 
Lytle was assisted at the podium by Emily Pennington, KeyLe Rhea and Conner Smith.  Ushers for the contestants were Barrett McGinness, John Porter Prater, Keaton McGinness and Will Prater.
June Dairy Month chairperson Marynia Harris spoke to the group about the dairy industry, and shared a schedule of upcoming dairy related events she has planned for the month.
