Banana splits canceled, subscription deals remain

Presley Perry, center, has spoons coming from both sides as Zoey Busic, left, and Braylee Robinson, right, offer some ice cream during last year’s Banana Day at the Southern Standard. This year’s event has been canceled, but the newspaper will still offer refreshing prices on subscriptions.

Due to the recent increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in Warren County, the Southern Standard will cancel our Customer Appreciation Day scheduled for July 24.

“We know many of you will be disappointed with our decision, but the health and safety of our community and customers will always come first,” said Standard publisher Patricia Zechman. “There may be no ice cream this year, but the Standard will still celebrate the summer with special subscription prices and prizes.”

During the week of July 20, customers can re-subscribe or buy a new subscription by dropping off your payment or calling by phone.

You can register for some of our great prizes we will be giving away by dropping off your name, telephone number and address in our red box in front of our office.
