Author to speak at Senior Center
McMinnville Warren County Senior Center will welcome author Sue Weaver Dunlap to a public reception Feb. 28 at 7 p.m.

The doors at the McMinnville Warren County Senior Center will open Feb. 28 to welcome author Sue Weaver Dunlap. The public is invited to the reception, starting at 7 p.m. at the center located at 809 Morrison Road.
Dunlap is the second author of the visiting author series presented by the center, made possible through a grant received from the Tennessee Art Commission.
Sue Weaver Dunlap grew up in Knoxville, and was a teacher for more than 30 years before devoting her time to writing.  In February 2016 she published her latest book of poetry “Knead,” which is a collection of 75 poems from her own voice as well as those of her ancestors all hailing  from the Appalachian region.  She currently lives in Walland with her husband Raymond and their pets, Lady Emma and Kitty Puss.
Also during the evening, local artist and musician Carol Neal will sing and perform for guests. An exhibit of Jay Walker’s photography of wildlife and nature will also be presented.
Center director Connie Smith encourages everyone to participate in the event, and more info can be obtained by contacting her at 931-473-6559.
