The Tennessee Aquarium and IMAX Theater has a slate of fall activities scheduled for visitors. The aquarium is located at 201 Chestnut Street, Chattanooga.
Animal Athletes at the Tennessee Aquarium will be held Sept. 27 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. It is free with aquarium admission.
Did you know that many animals are the ultra-athletes of the natural world? Here’s your chance to find out how you measure up against some amazing animal feats! Children can compete in activities to match their “iron strengths” against the athletic abilities of Aquarium creatures like river otters, penguins or lake sturgeon. Fun and engaging programs will enhance your family’s Aquarium experience while helping you appreciate some truly phenomenal skills. No registration necessary. Sign up for these events in the lobby of River Journey on the day of the event.
ODDtober at the Tennessee Aquarium is presented daily throughout October from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. It is free with aquarium admission.
Did you know that hellbender salamanders breathe through their skin? Or, that butterflies can taste with their feet and some fish build nests out of bubbles? Tennessee Aquarium guests will discover fun facts about the weird and wonderful side of nature throughout “ODDtober.” The quirky behaviors and bizarre adaptations that make animals unique will also be revealed during special ODDtober keeper talks and dive programs. Take a walk on the wild side by adding a backstage pass tour to get even closer to toothy sharks or the freshwater megafish in the River Giants exhibit.
