Annual Morrison Ruritan Health Fair March 29

The Morrison Ruritan Club has held a health fair for two decades, providing the community event for the public to take advantage of medical screenings. This year’s event will take place Saturday, March 29 from 6 - 9 a.m. at the Ruritan building. It is co-sponsored by NHC HomeCare of McMinnville.
Organizers are inviting the public to come and take advantage of medical screenings performed by healthcare professionals, and also enjoy a great breakfast prepared by Ruritan members.
Several free services are available, with Dr. Jimmie Woodlee graciously offering his services to perform carotid bruits, and check for skin cancer. NHC will also perform blood pressure checks and balance testing. There will be a variety of free services provided by the local healthcare community and civic groups, such as the Lions Club.
Another benefit of attending the health fair is the extremely reasonable fee for some lab testing provided by Dr. Woodlee’s office, such as comprehensive metabolic profile (including 12 tests) for $15; lipid profile for $15; CBC (checks for blood count) $10; and PSA (prostatic specific antigen for men only) $14; and thyroid profile (TSH) $14.
Anyone interested in having lab work done, should not eat or drink anything after midnight the night before the test.
Door prizes will be awarded to some lucky guests attending. The breakfast will be $5 for adults, and children under 12 will be $3.
Morrison Ruritan has earmarked the proceeds from the breakfast for community events sponsored by the club.
