A miraculous recovery
Allen's positive attitude helps pull her from death's door
FamilyWEB
The Allen family and friends gathered at NHC Healthcare for a celebration honoring the recovery of Christena Allen, who entered the facility in September almost as a quadriplegic. Following months of therapy and rehabilitation, she is able to walk and care for herself. Helping her celebrate are, first row from left, son Christopher Allen and brother George Dennis Thompson. Back row, sister Katie Bright, son-in-law Billy Rein, son Bobby Allen, friend Dee Dee Allen, daughter Alonda Rein and Rev. Alma Herbert.
According to friends, family and healthcare employees, Christena Allen is a true miracle, coming from almost being a quadriplegic to walking unassisted. Allen, 75, had surgery to remove scar tissue on July 19 at a Huntsville, Ala., hospital. The procedure should have been simple enough, but complications ensued, sending her to the emergency room where she coded two times.
