Kelsey Racine is styling at her new studio, Suite 11 by Kelsey. She opened Monday at 200 Hobson Street at the Salon Suites at Garden City Plaza.
“I’ve always wanted to do this,” said Kelsey, “I just had to muster the courage.”
Kelsey has a neat story in that she had steady jobs working for Generations and the law office of Ryan J. Moore, but she couldn’t shake her calling to cut, color and style hair.
So Kelsey gave up a dependable paycheck to go back to school at Georgia Career Institute. She has earned her license and this past week was the first time she was open for business. Kelsey reports that her one-room studio looks great.
“I’ve had a few clients from GCI and a few people who used to come to my house,” said Kelsey. “I’m looking to expand my clientele and I’m working by appointment. I do color and cuts, a little bit of everything.”
Kelsey does haircuts for men, women and children. As you might expect, her dad, Blaine Wilcher, was quick to vouch for her talents.
“I was her first customer and I’m proud to say she does a great job,” said Blaine, who some people may know as a Warren County commissioner.
