A woman faces a false report charge, while the man she allegedly lied about will serve 30 days on a drug charge. The man, Derrick Sullivan, 34, was ordered by General Sessions Judge Bill Locke, to serve 30 days of an 11-month, 29-day sentence, pay $750 plus costs and forfeit his weapon for possession of drugs and possession of a weapon.Meanwhile, the woman in the case, Whitney Danyel Brown, 26, is charged with filing a false report, possession of drugs and possession of a weapon, leaving the scene of an accident, and driving on a suspended license. The charges all stemmed from a wreck on Red Road. When deputies arrived to investigate the crash, they found Brown trying to hide from them.“She was found hiding in the creek bed in front of the truck,” said deputy Steven McMillan. What followed was a revolving door of stories about how the truck ended up in the creek and who was driving.“First she said her husband was driving and that he ran from the scene,” McMillan recalled. “Later she stated Derrick Sullivan was driving and that he ran from the scene.”Most interesting to the deputy was the fact Brown’s license was suspended and that she had been found near the truck after the crash.
