Running a red light will cost an Indiana woman more than just a ticket as she is facing drug and weapons charges.
The woman, Ashley Danielle Martin, 26, of Indianapolis is charged with possession of drugs for resale, unlawful possession of a weapon, driving on a suspended license and running a red light.
Her charges come after McMinnville policeman Eddie Colwell saw her run a red light at the intersection of the bypass and Mullican Street. Upon pulling her over, the officer learned it wasn’t the first time she had broken traffic laws. Her license from Indiana had been suspended there due to a traffic infraction meaning she was driving without being licensed.
She got deeper into trouble after she was placed into custody and her car was searched after her arrest. It was then police say they found a blue container in the driver side door pocket.
Contained in the package was methampethamine along with prescription drugs Alprazolam, Cyclobenzaprine and Clonazepam. The officer also found $2,000 in cash. A 9 mm Hi-Point pistol was found concealed under her driver seat.
