While there was suspense for much of the night in the district attorney's race, there was no such suspense in the race for county executive.Former 12th District County Commissioner Herschel Wells Sr., is now Warren County’s newest county executive after he handily defeated Republican foe John Shields and a field of independents.Wells led from cover to cover Thursday night and finished with 4,546 votes. The Democrat topped his Republican opponent, Shields, who finished second with 2,119 votes. Butch Bullen, who publically pulled out of the race but was kept on the ballot, managed 608 votes.
Wells cruises to win
