Volunteers are needed in early January to renovate the Blue Hole trail at Rock Island State Park.“I work with AmeriCorps and Tennessee State Parks,” said Blake Hackler. “I am organizing a service-learning project as part of my AmeriCorps contract and I need volunteers. The emphasis is on youth volunteers and education, but I am willing to work with any volunteers who wish to come.”The project to renovate the Blue Hole trail will be very labor-intensive with digging and replacing railroad ties to improve the quality of the steps, says Hackler.“It will be a lot of heavy lifting and digging,” he said.
