Called Our Ebenezer, this commemorative stone can been seen from Colville Street near its intersection with Depot Street. It marks the site of McMinnvilles original water source.
Preservation represents a commitment to remembering the past and McMinnville Heritage Preservation has done just that with the placement of a stone that members named “Our Ebenezer.”A single stone has been set upright in a small rock garden south of East Colville Street. It is 8 feet tall and was given the name Our Ebenezer, a Hebrew word which means stone of help. The rock garden has been named “Emmanuel’s Garden,” because it is in the area where a black church once stood. The area where the stone stands is located near the BRC office and is the site of the original Town Springs.
