A man caught in the buff with a 14-year-old runaway faces statutory rape charges.
The man, Peter K. McChesney, 20, could face one to two years in prison on both felony counts. He stands charged for two alleged sexual encounters with the underage girl. He has waived his right to a preliminary hearing and has been bound to the grand jury.
McChesney was arrested when Sheriff’s Sgt. Jason Walker arrived at a residence on Clements Road looking for the runaway girl.
“The owner of the residence took me to the basement of the house,” Walker revealed in his warrant. “Mr. McChesney and the 14-year-old female were on a mattress on the floor, both unclothed.”
Both McChesney and the girl admitted to having sexual relations that day and also engaging in inappropriate contact one month before in the Rock Island area.
The girl will also reportedly face charges in juvenile court as a runaway.
