Conspiracy and controversy now surrounds Warren County Animal Control’s attempt to rid one of the county’s recycling centers of a colony of feral cats. The facility has been attempting to catch an estimated 45 to 50 cats that have made the county’s convenience center on Harrison Ferry Mountain their home. Several cage traps that were placed in the area have been tampered with by individuals.“I did catch some, but someone let them go,” said Warren County Animal Control officer Tammy Webb. “That was confirmed.”Warren County Sanitation Department director Steve Hillis caught someone opening the cages and letting the cats out, says Webb.“Most likely, it is the same people who are feeding them,” she said.
