A motorcycle crash claimed the life of a local man Tuesday night when he struck a tree off Ivy Bluff Trail.The victim, Billy Shinkle, 32, was dead on arrival at River Park Hospital following the one-vehicle crash.According to sheriff’s department reports, the wreck happened just after 8 p.m. Tuesday on Ivy Bluff Trail, a two-lane secondary road near Centertown. Shinkle, who lived a short distance from the scene of the crash on Ivy Bluff Trail, was traveling north when the Honda motorcycle he was riding ran off the road, leaving the pavement on the right side of the road. The cycle was about to enter a curve when he lost control.The cycle missed a mailbox and a tree and crossed a driveway before striking a tree causing his fatal injuries.
