A Harrison Ferry resident succumbed to his injuries Monday, one day after he crashed his motorcycle near his home on Wildwood Road.
The victim, Bart Jackson Webb, 46, died Monday at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga where he had been under treatment for injuries sustained in the one-cycle wreck the afternoon before.
According to the report filed by Highway Patrolman Ronnie Simmons, the wreck happened on Wildwood Road atop Harrison Ferry Mountain in the southern part of the county around 4:40 p.m.
Webb was reportedly traveling east on the rural, two-lane road when his Honda motorcycle left the road on the right side and struck a ditch. The impact caused the cycle to flip numerous times, throwing off its rider. Webb was wearing a helmet.
The victim was airlifted from the scene by LifeForce helicopter. Obituary information is available on page 2-A.
