Monti Hillis has been named the new principal of Bobby Ray Memorial Elementary.
Ms. Hillis currently serves as an assistant principal at Warren County High School and has 27 years of education experience at the elementary and secondary levels. She will replace respected and longtime educator Beverly Ramsey who is retiring effective June 30.
“Ms. Ramsey has been an educator in Warren County for 40 years and is a person who is very difficult to replace,” said Director of Schools Bobby Cox. “Beverly will be missed greatly in our system and by me personally, and has dedicated her life to educating the youth of Warren County.”
Hillis will be greeting new students when the 2014-15 school year begins.
“Ms. Hillis will make the transition officially to Bobby Ray beginning July 1 and we feel she is the right fit for the school,” Cox said. “Ms. Hillis will bring with her knowledge of both elementary classroom experience and secondary administrative experience and we are excited about her acceptance of the principal’s position.”
