A man who beat himself up and then threatened to blame his injuries on his girlfriend was given 30 days in jail.The man, Chris Mason, 31, entered a guilty plea before General Sessions Judge Bill Locke to the reduced charge of domestic assault. He is required to complete batterer intervention classes and must stay away from the victim.According to deputies, Mason wasn’t the only one who suffered injuries in the odd incident. His girlfriend, whom he planned to blame for his injuries, was also hurt.“She said Chris had hit himself saying she would go to jail,” said Sheriff’s Sgt. Billy Joe Crouch of the victim’s statement to authorities.
