A Lance Street woman has been given probation for assaulting her mother and sister.
The woman, Megan Rife, 21, entered a guilty plea to two counts of domestic assault. She was ordered by General Sessions Judge Bill Locke to serve 11 months, 29 days on probation during which time she is to attend batterer intervention and must stay away from the victims.
The incident, police learned, began over some makeup that Rife’s mother maintains her daughter had taken from her residence.
“Ms. Rife slammed her to the ground, causing visible injuries to both her hands and one of her arms,” recalled McMinnville Police Sgt. Ben Cantrell, noting Rife also slammed her mother in the car door.
Once inside, the victim said Rife began throwing plates and slinging ketchup around the kitchen. She also pulled her mother’s hair and hit her again. The second assault prompted the woman’s other daughter to intervene. However, she got slugged in her right eye for her involvement.
