Womack killed during motel gunfight
Jeffery Bryan died last Wednesday while in West Memphis.

Funeral service has been set for Thursday for a McMinnville man shot and killed last week in a motel room in West Memphis, Ark.
Jeffery Bryan Womack, 41, a former U.S. Marine, died last Wednesday while in West Memphis. Womack worked as a truck driver for a local nursery.
According to WMC News 5 in West Memphis, the homicide took place on the second floor of a Motel 6 last Wednesday morning, April 26.
Witnesses reportedly heard several gunshots coming from the second-floor area where Womack was found. Investigators told WMC News 5 several shell casings were found in the room.
Roderick Parrish, 27, has been charged with shooting Womack in what West Memphis Police Department says was an apparent drug deal gone bad. Parrish has a lengthy criminal history, according to police reports, and was on parole for a previous shooting when the Motel 6 gunfight took place.
Parrish was reportedly shot and was seen by witnesses leaving the room bleeding. After a brief search, he was taken into custody later on Wednesday and transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Funeral service for Mr. Womack is Thursday at 1 p.m. at McMinnville Funeral Home. Obituary information is available in the obituary section on this website.
