Friday's games against Tullahoma at Charlie Dalton Gym will have added importance.
During halftime of the boys game, two jerseys will be retired into the rafters. Former Warren County standouts Ann Eades and Russ Spivey will be the first two players recognized.
"We are excited Ann and Russ will be our initial honorees," said WCHS athletic director Todd Willmore. "Both had phenomenal careers as members of the Warren County High School basketball program and later in college."
The idea to honor former basketball players was an idea the 3-point Club toyed with earlier this fall when the Warren County Hall of Fame inducted new members, including Eades.
Since that time, Willmore and the administration began working for ways to honor former hoops stars.
"We have developed guidelines for nominations in all sports and will have a committee decide on the merits of the nomination," said Willmore.
Eades was a member of the first Lady Pioneer basketball team in 1970, scoring over 1,500 points in her high school career. Spivey, an all-state selection, parlayed his success with the Pioneers into playing time at the University of Tennessee.
Tip-off for the boys game is set for 7:30 p.m. The girls will begin at 6 p.m.
