An appreciation for what they say God has done for them prompted a local couple to seek what they can do for others. Corey and April Tyson, along with help from their children, C.J., Colton, Hunter, Caleigh and Mack, have launched Restoring Hope, a ministry aimed at helping people who are in need of assistance in keeping their homes in shape.

Corey explains, "We want to help the disabled, elderly, widowed, anyone who is struggling. We're offering small home repairs free of charge. We'll take care of anything we can, down to something as simple as a light bulb change. We're thinking about doing wheelchair ramps when needed, door repairs, whatever we can do to help a situation that inhibits someone's daily living."

Corey and April were motivated to show love for others by their faith in Christ. "We've been Christians for about two years. We've turned our faith over to God and surrendered to Him. We're both recovered addicts, so we've just given it all to God. We started doing Meals on Wheels and we realized there was a need for this. There's a lot of elderly folks out there who don't really have anybody and could use a service like this," Corey said.

For those interested in the services Restoring Hope offers, Corey and April can be contacted at (931) 414-0062. "We'll do an assessment and if the job's too big, we'll pass it along to someone else, but we'll do what we can to help even after the fact if we can't do the job," Corey said.
