Two people were arrested Wednesday evening following a search for a stolen vehicle.

On Feb. 21, Warren County Sheriff’s Department investigators Jared Jacobs and Kelly Carter began an investigation into the recovery of a stolen 2006 Honda Odyssey minivan. The investigators, as well as McMinnville Police Department Sgt. Joseph Butler, received information the stolen vehicle would be traveling through Warren County.

According to the WCSD, at approximately 4:55 p.m., the vehicle was seen traveling on Hwy 70S and a felony stop was made at the intersection of Hwy 70s and Faulkner Springs Road. Matthew Bloodworth, 34, from Shocowinty, North Carolina and Shelby Libengood, 26, from Grimland, North Carolina were arrested. They had active warrants out of North Carolina.

Officers approached the vehicle and the pair was arrested without incident. Upon search of the vehicle, an illegal controlled substance was found in addition to needles and syringes.

They were then transported to the Warren County Jail . They will appear before General Sessions Judge Ryan J. Moore on charges of fugitive from justice and await extradition to North Carolina.
