McMinnville’s Tourism Development Board has its leadership set for 2022, but still seeks an administrator.
Sarah Cantrell was named Tourism Development Board chair for a second term, a position she first accepted in February 2021, whenmembersmetMonday for their first meeting of 2022.
Likewise, Keval Sheth and Ross Garrison were reappointed as vice chairman and treasurer.
Newcomer Brooks Young, who was appointed by McMinnville’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen earlier this month, was named secretary.
While leadership has been established, the search for an administrator has proven fruitless.
“I checked in with the city before this meeting and we have not received any RFP submissions yet,” said Cantrell. “There’s still a week. I would like to think human nature is that there are some folks out there who are pushing the deadline. However, as of right now, it’s still open and no submissions.”
The deadline to apply is Tuesday, Feb. 1 at 2 p.m.
When questioned about a “fallback plan” if no applications are received Cantrell said, “I don’t know. That will be something we decide when we meet in two weeks. Will we extend it, like we’ve done before? Will be close it out, wait a couple months and then, open it back up toward the summer? That’s going to be a decision the board must make.”
Tourism Development Board has been seeking an administrator to oversee its endeavors for several months. The position is contract labor, not to exceed $30,000.
