Taylor charged with assaulting girlfriend

A man faces up to six years in prison after he assaulted his girlfriend when she threw him out of their house.The man, Phillip Rodney Taylor, 47, has been indicted on charges of aggravated domestic assault and preventing a 911 call.“She told him their relationship was over and that he had to move from the residence,” the warrant the victim swore out against Taylor reads.The eviction did not sit well with Taylor, the victim told lawmen, as he assaulted her.“He jumped on top of her while on the sofa, holding her down with his hands over her mouth, cutting off her ability to breathe,” the warrant claims.The victim told deputies she was able to escape his grasp but was knocked to the ground. Her phone then rang.“He would not allow her to answer the call, placing her phone in his pocket,” the warrant says, noting the assault continued as her boyfriend shoved her into cabinets in the kitchen area.
