A local woman was taken into custody on Rattlesnake Road after being charged with stalking, aggravated assault, and criminal trespassing.
Kara Clinton, 42, was arrested in April after police received a call of a woman being in a neighbor’s yard as the victim and her two young children arrived home.
According to the arrest warrant, Clinton was holding a stick and aggressively approached the neighbor’s car. The victim states this unruly and threatening behavior placed her family in fear of their lives, claiming Clinton was gripping the stick in a menacing manner after the victim told Clinton to leave her property.
After authorities arrived, court records show the victim rolled her car window down and Clinton then began yelling “Why did you have me arrested?” and to “give her money and get off her property.”
The victim told officers that Clinton has continuously trespassed and stalked her family ever since they moved into the home on Rattlesnake Road at the beginning of 2018.
During her court appearance last week, Clinton was entered into the TN Rocks program and will need to receive help from CHEER Mental Health. She was told to wear an ankle bracelet for monitoring until her next court appearance Sept. 3.
